Straight from our brass (and silver) instrument repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked. Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in good playable condition. For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired. We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale. We have tried to describe it as it is, and have shown what we can in the pictures allowed. We are happy to answer any questions asked. #2/2023Up for sale is a 1941 FE Olds & Son Super Professional Tenor Trombone, manufactured in Los Angeles, Calif. U.S.A. Dual slide bore .485/.500, with a 7.5" diameter bell flare. The serial number on the horn is #136xx, with matching serial numbers on bell and slide. It is made of yellow brass and solid nickel silver. The bell material is bell bronze and has hand engraving on the silver kranz around the bell rim: SUPER OLDS Made by FE Olds & Son Los Angeles Calif, U.S.A.There is some scratching and dings throughout and some pitting at the slide grips. There are some waves/dents on the bell kranz. The Super model has the fluted slide tubes and the stockings are in good condition. There is good compression. The slide action is very good.The horn will be shipped in a not usable, very used and damaged worn case in very poor condition. It also will come with a used mouthpiece(may not be the one pictured). This instrument is not lacquered; therefore, this instrument may have to be polished periodically (we recommend using Weiman METAL Polish). This is an exceptionally bright playing Super model trombone. It has tremendous power, slots very well and is a great all-around horn that does everything well. It has good range and is especially at home as a lead jazz horn.
