Ovation Country Artist Cutaway Acoustic/Electric Model 16741983 / Serial # 298014 / Made in USAGood condition (see photos and description)A versatile instrument that has the build and feel of more of a standard acoustic guitar and built like one for that reason. The 1674 model was in very short production so few were made. For those that don't know this particular model is a nylon string guitar for steel string pickers.This is a 1983 Model 1674 Country Artist. With the exception of a few dents that I tried to show in some of the photos, the top is perfect. And yes, it is as spectacular as the photos show. It's one of the best pieces of spruce I've ever seen, aged 40 years.It's got the stacked volume/tone control. When plugged in, it's got a slight crackle when the plug is wiggled around. It might need cleaning or a new jack, or it might just need the connections checked.It is not a classical mainly due to the fact that the nut width is 1 7/8" as opposed to the classical 2" and the neck joins the body at the 14th fret like steel strings guitars as opposed to classical at the 12th fret. Nice sweet sound and smooth easy to play. Has the ovation FET pre-amp with stacked knob volume/tone control.It comes with an Ovation case that is really for a shallow body guitar, not a super shallow. This is how I purchased it...they were out of the cases at the time. I put 2 pieces of foam on the top of the guitar and then closed the case...it has worked for 40 years, with no issues. I also, had a bag case made to go over the hardshell case...it has kept the hardshell case in great condition, except for a few scuffs on the bottom, before I had the bag case made. The only issue with the bag case is that the zippers are starting to be hard to zip and unzip, but what would you expect after 40 years.I am including a couple sets of strings (inside outside bag pocket). They need to be changed.ships same day as purchased---wrapped safely!!!!
