I'm calling this a type of Banjo Mandolin. It probably has an ethnic name of some kind. The rim is 9" in diameter with 16 brackets. There are 12 frets. The length is 28". It obviously needs a new head and strings. The geared tuners look okay. The resonator could use repair and refinishing. No idea of its age. I took it in trade for another instrument years ago.
