It marries a carbon fiber belt drive with a two-speed kick shifter, stylishly integrated into a sleek steel frame dressed in Scooter blue. Back pedal half a turn to upshift or downshift. It’s that easy. Unlike a true track / fixed-gear (fixie) bike, you can freewheel and coast when not pedaling.From what I can tell, the Dualie is no longer available from Spot Brand.Why is it the perfect dog walking/trotting bike? For the rider, shifting from low to high gear does not require the use of hands or levers – just backpedal. For the dog, it is silent due to the belt drive and there are no exposed metal gears. My dog quickly figured out how to maintain a good trotting pace and to react to slow/wide turns.Included in this auction is a Walky Dog leash (walkydog.com) and used harness that keeps the dog beside you and away from traffic while allowing some forward/backward and side-to-side motion. The arm of the leash has a quick release to disconnect it from the seat post when not in use.Bought from Palo Alto Bicycles (~2011), it is in great condition with just few scratches on the handlebars and a chip in the paint where the front brake hits the downtube. It is all original except for the rear tire and has never needed any maintenance due to the belt drive and internal shifting inside the rear hub.The only reasons I am selling it are for garage space and my 12-year-old shepherd mix is getting too old to accompany me.LOCAL PICKUP ONLY in Redwood City, CA.
