So I took up the trumpet, with predictable results for me-- a basement full of horns. Now I need space, and I’m coming to terms with the fact that I’m no brass repairman, so some impulse buy projects are going on the auction block, FOR CHEAP! All deserve a little TLC, maybe you are the one to give it!All the way from “68bjs Rue Reaumur, PARIS” comes this JEROME THIBOUVILLE-LAMY Bb/C TRUMPET. I picked this up because it’s got the same rigid, rimless, ‘onion chopper’ bell as the Conn ‘Vocabell’ series, which has always fascinated me but has become quite dear of late. It was in much sadder shape when I got it, with some broken joints which I had fixed up, and the whole thing given a polish and internal clean. After all that, it’s not a horn I can really get behind— it’s a decent C trumpet but I don’t like it as a Bb, which makes it redundant for me. Low start price of NINETY-NINE DAMN U.S. DOLLARS; shipping is TWENTY-FIVE BUCKS in the CONUS.
