NEW Husqvarna MC5 Mountain Cross. While people are focused on bikes from mainstream companies like Specialized, Trek, Giant, etc., the motorcycle manufacturers have come up with what is the best design for e-bikes. This bike in particular is a carbon frame and swingarm with some ideas that come from the motocross world as well. Centralizing the motors mass, lowering high weight items lower into the frame, like the battery, excellent motor cooling, Larger front wheel with smaller rear (called mullet in the MTB world), and a beefy suspension. 150mm travel front and rear is the sweet spot between DH and XC, not too much travel for trails and enough for the bigger hits. Fox Float front and rear, DT Swiss HX1700 wheels with the new hubs built for durability, dropper post and one of the best saddles I have ever ridden, Pirelli Scorpion 29x2.4 front and 27.5x2.6 rears, the new standard for e-MTB tires. Shimano XT derailleur, Shimano EP-8 motor is much improved and quiet. Any shop can service a Shimano motor BTW. This is priced well below a mid to upper range bike from the name brands while offering features well above them at this price. Husqvarna has been around for a long time and they know what they are doing.I have ridden a few e-bikes in addition to my regular bikes and the Husqvarna has proven to be the best. I have an MC6, this was a backup for friends, but wife made it quite clear they can buy their own bikes. Never warrantied, never ridden. Bike rides like a much lighter bike with the low CG (battery/motor) and carbon frame. Husqvarna only sells these out of their motorcycle dealerships and motocrossers use them for training in the off days of riding as well as pit bikes. That is a problem because bicycle riders may never know of the existence of these bikes and therefore never experience what a truly good e-MTB is. Light on the trails, precise, good rollover and quick acceleration when needed. Battery is 720kwh and good for about 4 hours in Trail mode, 2.5-3 hours on full boost, and Eco, well you'll be done before the bike will. Super comfortable ride, will make short work of the trails.I was not a full on e-bike rider, only doing experimental rides. I found I ride climbs that were almost impossible to climb, my cadence is higher and much more consistent, and I ride longer, like laps longer. For the e-bike haters, stay with your favorite bike. I'll ride up the mountain that others need to take a lift to get to the top. I still ride non-powered bikes, this one has changed my mind however.US Only, no in between overseas shippers. US Only!
