Commemorative Envelope and Cloth Uniform Patch for Scud Missiles Launched from

Price:
$12
Location:
Washington, DC
Description:

Two items for the price of one! FIRST - This is a postmarked envelope measuring 7 1/2 inches by 4 inches commemorating the first of two foreign-built Scud-B missiles launched in the continental United States from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on November 14, 2002. This was a joint operation between the U.S. and Israel, code named "Blue Velvet." The objective of these launches was to learn more about the missile's capabilities. These missiles made up a large part of Iraq's ballistic weapons. During the Gulf War (1990-1991), Iraq fired dozens of Scud missiles against Israel and Saudi Arabia. SECOND - Matching cloth uniform patch commemorating the Blue Velvet program. The combination of the postmarked envelope and the cloth patch would look great together properly framed and hung on a wall. What a fantastic part of international history! 10/24/2021
