This vintage F.E. Olds Recording trumpet is a professional model in the key of Bb. It features a silver color with a 3 tone brass finish and a red brass bell. The leadpipe material is brass and the valve type is piston. This trumpet also includes a case, valve slide trigger, and is lacquered.The trumpet is suitable for jazz and standard performances. It was made in the United States and is a great addition for any collector or professional musician. The brand, F.E. Olds, is well-known in the music industry and this instrument would make a great addition to any brass collection. I am the second owner of this instrument circa 1950-52 serial number 55024. After years of searching for a professional used horn my father, a musician by trade, found this trumpet. I fell in love with it. I played it through high school and my son played it through middle and high school. As you can see it has loving wear. The only thing ever done to this horn was keep it clean, lubed and oiled. The valves have good spring action and the slides are smooth. The main spit valve holds but could use a new pad. No mouth piece. There is still enough shine left to pick up me as I photographed it in a Photo Booth. I wish I still played. I would have it re-lacquered. After 70 years it’s time for this unique vintage trumpet to have a new loving home.
