Cabin in the WoodsBy T.C. Johnson2023This painting was inspired by my memories of cabins in northern Maine where I lived for 18 years. I painted this as a reminder of the beauty of the snow and the comfort of a small cabin.About MeMy path into painting began in High School under the influence of my best friend, who was a naturally talented artist. His ability to transfer his imagination onto canvas was nothing short of inspiring. Initially unsure of my own ability to paint, I was encouraged by him to take up the brush. This led to my first creation in 1970, a vivid depiction of the first moon landing. I wanted to capture Neil Armstrong's historic step onto the lunar surface, an event that was personally life-changing at the age of 16.This initial endeavor sparked an interest that has been with me since. Although I don't consider myself a professional artist, painting has become a deeply fulfilling part of my life. I did not go to art school, nor am I a member of any prestigious art society. I don't have any awards to claim. I just like to paint. And I like others to enjoy what I paint.Recently, I ventured into the enchanting realm of watercolors, having previously worked with acrylics. This transition opened up a new world of artistic expression for me, allowing me to explore various subjects with renewed vigor ? from serene landscapes to lively depictions of animals, ships, and flowers. My paintings, often inspired by personal photographs or those of others, aim to create a sense of tranquility and visual delight. Much of my photography is done with the eye to eventually paint what I have captured. There are some scenes that I wasn't living to see, so I have to rely on other photographers to give me the inspiration.In my desire to share this joy with you, I am now offering high-quality reproductions of my work. Each piece is carefully printed by me, framed in a simple style, and ready to adorn your walls. Accompanying each painting is a certificate of authenticity, assuring you of its originality and my personal touch in its creation.Having decorated my own home with these originals, they bring me daily enjoyment. It is my sincere hope that they will offer the same joy and peace to you, capturing the essence of what inspired me to paint them in the first place.To make this work, I want you to be satisfied.
