This vintage b-flat horn is a true gem for any brass enthusiast. Crafted by an anonymous German maker in nickel silver, this horn boasts historic sound quality and an elegant design. With its sleek curves and intricate details, this instrument is a stunning addition to any collection.The instrument dates to approximately the 1940s, and it has seen a history of repairs in its decades of use. It has a stopping valve and a kranz or garland on the bell. The leadpipe accepts a very narrow-shank mouthpiece. It plays well for its age and condition. Four of the five tuning slides move freely. The valves work, but may benefit from service. The horn is in need of an ultrasonic cleaning and a little soldering on one of the braces. With some care and restoration it could be a beautiful historic horn, or it could be upgraded with a modern leadpipe and used as a beginner instrument.
