NIKON D5100 DSLR 16.2MP w/18-55mm VRlens, 2 Batts-Charger-16GB SDCard Case FREE SHIP! Up for sale is a Nikon D5100 16.2megapixel DSLR camera. Included is a Nikon Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 DX VR lens,an RG camera bag, 2 batteries, a charger, a 16GB SDHC card, a USB cable andmanuals and software on a CD. This camera works fine. I’m not veryfamiliar with Nikon cameras but it wasn’t hard to figure it out. It took somevery nice pictures. The owner’s manual (on the CD) is actually quite helpful.The bright, articulated 3” screen is great for live view and video, and theoptical viewfinder is clear and bright. Along with the standard intelligentauto and Program, shutter, aperture and full manual modes, there’s a largechoice of scenes, effects and other interesting shooting modes, including HDRwhich is amazing. This camera also takes Full HDvideos. The onboard microphone is mono, but there is a jack to connect anexternal stereo microphone. The video capture aspect of this camera isn’tgreat; this is one area where newer cameras do a bit better. I’ve had good luckusing manual focus for videos. The video autofocus is pretty slow. This camera can capture beautifulimages that print beautifully at 13x19. I recently printed one as a gift. Thereal sweet spot seems like 11x14 and 11x17; almost any shot looks good at thosesizes. This is the perfect camera outfit forsomeone on a budget who wants to move up to “enthusiast” photography. It’s agood deal at this price; individually, this camera and these accessories wouldcost about 25% more, even on eBay. Everything you’ll need to get started rightaway is included, and everything works well together. This outfit will takewonderful pictures at a reasonable price. The only things I’d add are a betterTTL flash and a good tripod. A lot of professional photographers start withless equipment. There are lots of great guidebooks out there; “Nikon D5100 forDummies” and Dave Busch’s Nikon D5100 Guide are both good and available usedfor $6 or $7. There are lots of reviews on theinternet; check out “dpreview” and “imaging-resource” for a lot moreinformation about the Nikon D5100.
