Indonesian Thunder Maker Drum Also known as a spring drum, you can add the sounds of Nature by bringing a little thunder to color your sound baths. Shake the long thin spring on this instrument as you hold and shake the hollow tube, and it will create a thunder-like noise. Moderate the sound from a distant rumble to a thundering crescendo by how hard you shake it. Adjust the intensity and volume easily by how vigorously you shake the tube.This Thunder Drum is hand painted with colorful dots using white, sky blue, red ,yellow, green and brown(all colors of nature) on a black background. Says "Quartzsite in paint at the base and there is a removable sticker on the top saying, "Made in Indonesia" (typically made in Bali)Lightweight and way to play, these are fun for all ages and are a great instrument for anyone from schools to orchestras. They have been used as sound effects in many contemporary orchestral pieces and sound recordingsIt really sounds like thunder when shaken or if swirling the spring around the base. It's in excellent condition and sounds great! A collectible, conversation starter and very cool instrument to own.It is most likely made of a light hardwood with a mylar or some sort of acoustic sound-carrying top.8" H x 3" Diameter.
