Conn 79h has developed a small but loyal niche following. This is a 0.522" medium bore trombone which is similar to the Bach 36, but in my opinion has a nicer character and sound. My teacher, John Swallow, played a 79h while teaching and in major national orchestras and brass quintets. It takes a small shank mouthpiece. I can include a Bach 6 1/2 al if you ask for it. The slide on the 79h is wider and more comfortable than most other instruments. In fact, the 79h has a wider slide than the 88h. Comes with a hard case.This is a special horn, put together from a 1970 body and a 1950's (half moon engraving) red brass bell from it's cousin, the 78h. It has a dark but very even sound. Great high range, and if you concentrate you can get surprising low notes from it. Valve is good, inner slide tubes have been replaced in the last 10 years. I have owned this for about 10 years and am only selling it to trim down an excess of trombones. It is slightly edged out by a pair of Elkhart 88h/8h bells used with a custom Conn sl2525 slide.
