This is a free-standing super duper deluxe hotplate, really. You plug it in to 220 or 240 Volts AC and set it on a counter and it takes the place of a stovetop. I bought it from Amazon for my Dad who lives in a retirement community, but he says all he needs is a single hot plate which takes up less space,] and costs like $20 bucks, so okay...So I didn't ask for a refund in case he changed his mind, but it has been two years and that is apparently not going to be the case. I used the manufacturer's photo to show how the unit appears when it is operating. The other photo shows it in the box in my living room. Because it has a mirror finish, what you actually see is a partial reflection of the living room ceiling and the shadow of the carboard flap. The unit actually is quite beautiful but does not photograph well because, well, how do you take a photo of a mirror? The retail price was $310, and the unit is still in the box and unused. I will pay UPS to the continental 48 states. An ideal application was my Dad's retirement community where he had counter space, but I really didn't want him messing around with an oven. It's beautiful. But, as I say, he was happy with a single burner, so what the hey. NOTE that despite the insanely low price this is a major cooking appliance and requires the same power as an electric range. Please be sure you have a place to plug it into. You would not be able to use a tourist step up transformer to use a 110 voltt outlet and convert to 220 volts. If all four burners are on this unit requires 7.2 kW and so it's a big thick power cord designed for 220 or 240 VAC. Send me a note if you have any questions, safety first, okay?
