Theta Carmen II CD Transport OnlyFor sale, we have the extremely well built Theta Carmen II CD Transport. The unit came to us in need of work. We serviced the unit and sourced a brand new power supply. The unit is being sold as a CD transport only, as it does not read DVDs. The display is bright, and the original Theta remote is in perfect working order. Physically the player is in very good condition. There are several scratches on the left side of the faceplate, and some light scratches in other places. We tried to show these blemishes in the pictures listed. The unit has no dents, and has never been dropped. The faceplate is made of thick aluminum, as well as the top shroud. If you are looking at this unit we assume you know that it is a transport, and will require an external DAC to listen to CDs. See pictures for further details. We sold this unit a couple of months ago, and the purchaser called us a week after receiving the unit telling us the unit was making noise while spinning a CD, and was having trouble reading the CD's. After further discussion, the purchaser stated that he was "burning in" a cable, and had the player running for 4 days continuously. We issued a full refund and took the player back. We finally got to work on the unit two weeks ago. We removed the transport, and serviced the motor bearings. We then ran the unit for 4 days straight. We figured this was going to have to be our baseline test. While still only reading CD's, the unit is functioning smoothly, and quietly, we have been running it daily in our house system. The unit will ship in an oversized heavy duty box. The unit will be wrapped in plastic, and surrounded on all sides with several inches of polyethylene foam.
