Custom built offset Jazzmaster guitarI've built several telecaster barnwood-style guitars over the past 10 years (see the sample pics). This Jazzmaster is a recent project in similar style. About me; 45+ yrs as a guitarist, background as a woodworker and refinisher. I source quality parts for each unique build, age the parts and apply a strategic finish technique. The final assembly, fretwork, and wiring are done by a local luthier with over 40 yrs experience.Finish is done with an alchemy of black tea, then apple cider vinegar for a barnboard, aged, weathered look. Body and headstock is sealed with several coats of dead flat varnish to retain the natural aged wood appearance, yet provide a durable seal. The neck has a few coats of hand-rubbed dainish oil for a smooth and comfortable feel. Parts are all-new, but hand-aged to compliment the aged body.
