Historic vintage Robert De Lacy silver cornet. Instrument is in non-working condition, soldfor parts/repair. De Lacy or Delacy wasa bandmaster, professor of music, and instrument maker in 19th-centuryBritain. His instruments are marked withhis name and place of business address by which they can be dated. This cornet is marked 84 Holland Road,Brixton, London, which indicates it was made from 1880 to 1908. The cornet’s body is in beautiful condition with a nearflawless silver finish. Cornet ismissing the water keys; one of the top valve caps and all finger buttons; oneout of the three bottom caps, and the main tuning slide. Repairs to tubing needed (see photos). The first and third valves have severeinternal damage; the second valve appears to be OK (see photos fordetails). Cleaned and polished.
