Way before the internet and mail order catalogs, itinerate door to door salesmen would show a tiny version of their wares to perspective housewives and buyers. This is a terrific sample of what they'd use. Up for auction is a perfectly preserved foot stool in teeny tiny form. It measures only 3 inches across and 2 1/4 inches high. As you can see by the images, the piece retains nice earth tone colors and accents. It remains intact and free of any breaks, rust, scale, or corrosion. The fabric is a bit muted in tone as are the painted feet, but also are intact. It may have an odd paint rub from long term storage. Last, it is marked C. A. Dorney Furniture Company of Allentown, PA and likely made between the late 1890s to 1920s. Overall a great piece of Salesman sample history and all for a low start and no reserve.
