This Jupiter Sousaphone is in good functional condition, complete and ready to go. Valves move well with good compression, the slides move decently. All the felts, corks, springs and valve guides are new. It comes with the correct jupiter neck and bits.The bell is not original to the horn but works and fits well. The leadpipe has been replaced with a lacquer one, not silverplated as shown in the pictures. The valve caps are also lacquered. Also there is a unoriginal brace holding the valve section to the horn. It is solid. It is 26 inches in diameter as they normally are on a Jupiter. Cosmetically the horn could be improved. The silver plated valve section is tarnished. With normal silver polishing products available at hardware stores it could be polished up nicely. The fiberglass body has marks on it. I think with a good scrubbing it could look better, or painted.Anyway great chance to catch a deal on a good working fiberglass sousaphone that with alittle work could be made to look good.
