I am sadly selling my Romantic Guitar but I am hopeful that it goes into the hands of someone who will use it more than I have, and will appreciate this beautiful instrument’s unique character and history. This guitar was built in the Stauffer Style, and was made around 1860 in Markneukirchen. Although there is no evidence of an original luthier label aside from a repair label inserted in 1920, this guitar hosts some interesting features, high quality materials, and a high level of craftsmanship that would only have been possible in the hands of a builder with ample experience and resources. While the previous owner provided the details regarding the guitar’s origins, the renowned luthier and guitarist Jack Sanders helped me understand the guitars construction and materials.The guitar has been fully repaired, inspected, and performed on since its acquisition, and it is ready to go to a new home!
