Here's a rare find. You'll have fun with this vintage Reynolds Professional Model 75 .500 valve/slide combo trombone. The serial number is 35xxx which puts the date of manufacture around 1954. On the 7 1/2-inch bell it reads "Reynolds Made By Roth-Reynolds Inst. Co. Cleve. O." Well made, it has; nice action, good valves, slick slide, free moving tuning slides, "R" counterweight, 7 1/2" bell, .500 bore, no big dents, heavy finish wear, mouthpiece and the original heavy duty case. (worn but does job) The slide has no inner plating worn spots and, again, is slick. Where the brace attaches to the bell it has a small/push down ripple. (see pic) It has scratches, a ding here and there and very heavy finish wear but would detail nicely. (see pics) Me? I'm not a store/repairman. Buy accordingly. Looking for instruments and getting them into the hands of players is a hobby of mine. I've never come across one of these. I'm not a trombone player but can get a nice sound out of it and, as is, would be good enough for me. That said, since whoever buys this will probably be an advanced player, I'm sure you'll want to have your tech give it a complete/thorough going over/clean/take out dings/give the works...and am selling as such. No question, a skilled hand could make it sing. Get it mint and swing. Again, it sounds cool. I'm proud to offer it and you'll be proud to own it. Thanks for your interest and best of luck.
