I'm considering selling my beautiful car (although that wasn't the intention when I first bought it), shipping it overseas, or storing it. If I can find a new owner who will take care of this baby well and is willing to pay a fair price, I will sell it. History of the car: I bought this car, brand new, in fall of 2010 with the intention of keeping it for the long term (hence why I went for a new car and not used). I have primarily used it to drive to and from Stanford from neighboring areas to campus. As such, there isn't much mileage on it at all. As of today, there's 19K miles on it, which comes out to about 28 miles a day over the past 22 months - a very low figure for a "commute" car. Description: The car is in an immaculate and brilliant condition. As mentioned, it's been used mostly to commute to and from school, and hasn't been driven much. I have serviced the car 3 times (regular checks), two of which have been at the dealership I bought it from, and once at Jiffy Lube for an oil change. I've always put premium unleaded gas in it to maintain top-notch engine performance. This car combines the elegance, cool and sexy of a German car with the efficiency of a Japanese car, and the safety of an American/Swedish car. The car has a 20 MPG in the city and a 27 MPG on the highway, higher than any competing SUV. In fact, the 2.0T (4-cylinder) engine was introduced for the first time in 2011. Prior to that, all Q5s were 3.2 (6-cylinder and above). What's also great about this car is that the Q5 is Audi's flagship SUV and maintains value extremely well, as there will always be demand for this car (just like the A4 is for sedans). It's not overly customized yet is sufficiently sophisticated, so there will always be a hot market for it. Frankly this was one of the main reasons I picked this car over others. I could've gone with a "sexier" car like the A5/6 or a BMW convertible, but those cars have niche/narrower clientele, depreciate more quickly and are harder to sell down the line. While no car purchase is ever an "investment" in the true sense of the word, the Q5 preserves value way better than many competing cars. Many people compare this car to Lexus, Infiniti, Volvo or Nissan when trying to choose an SUV, which is a flawed comparison because this is a German car with far superior reputation, quality and heritage than Japanese cars. Audis ought to be compared to BMW and Mercedes. For any given model, the Audi is cheaper than Mercedes or BMW largely because the latter command a "brand-name" premium that is debatable, without there being any substantial difference in quality and performance. The Audi is the cheapest and most cost-effective way of owning a top-notch, A-class performance German car. This car also saved me a ton of moving costs. The back seats fold down, so the trunk space extends and surprisingly can fit a large number of boxes. It's perfect if you like to do road trips to Tahoe or elsewhere and need to put skis or equipment in the back. Of course there are also racks (included) that you can affix to the roof of the car (I haven't because I never needed then). Last but not least, the Audi Q5 2011 was ranked 1st and designated as "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). More details below.
