http://today.slac.stanford.edu/fm/rss.aspx?feed=fm&item=6355 40' ; Owens Tahitian 1963 Double Cabin Motor Yacht Double planked wooden hull Two cabins two heads with lectrasan chemical flushing system No holding tanks 1 shower (2) 80 gallon gas tanks (1) 50 gallon water tank Electronics: GPS/depth/fish No Generator No oven or stove Good things about the boat: Rebuilt twin Chevy 350 gas motors (excellent condition) Port side motor approx 40 hours Starboard side motor has less than 10 hours rebuilt transmissions new cutlass bearing port side replaced during haul out March 2006 2 new propellers replaced during haul out March 2006 Fresh bottom paint & caulking completed during haul out March 2006 New canvas Mahogany decks resealed/caulked Zincs replaced during haul out March 2006 Not so good things about the boat: The bow has some dry rot at the bow approximately 2 feet back where plank replacement is needed. All planks that need replacing are above the water line. This work could be done while the boat is in the water. There is also one broken frame at the bow. This item should be fixed if your plan is to use the boat-especially in rough water. Top side paint is showing its age. Time to paint everything above the water line. Windows leak when it rains. I have canvas which covers all windows and keeps the inside dry. But if the canvas if off when it rains?stuff inside gets wet.
