For sale is a Technics Grand Class SL-G700 Network / Super Audio CD Player from a South Florida estate. While I lack historical information about this unit, its pristine conditionspeaks volumes – a remarkable 9.5 out of 10. The top, sides, front, and backsurfaces are nearly flawless. The accompanying remote control appears brand new, andthe original manual, although with a minor tear on the Technics word lettering(repaired with clear tape, included), is also part of the package.Upon initial setup using analog RCA and balanced XLR outputs, there was anissue with no sound on one or both channelsThe XLR's mimic the RCA outputs sound issues.However, the digital optical out (TOSLINK) anddigital coax out, and front headphones played both channels without issues. The CD player plays without any problems other than the analog audio issues, the drawer works nice & smooth, random, repeat, FF/RR, track selection were tested.A quick look inside revealed a robustbuild with a date code of "02 October 2020," indicating it's recent manufacturing no apparent issues wereseen. Maybe a loose connector or ribbon?I upgraded the firmware from 1.01.06.00 to version 1.01.12.00, but it did notresolve the intermittent analog channel issues Sometimes turning the unit on/off for a bit may or may not fix the analog channel/channels issue, suggesting an intermittent connection.Bluetooth streaming from my phone, using a USB flash drive with MP3’s playback, and LAN (ethernet) cable-basedpodcast and internet radio tests all performed without issues on the digital jacks, but sameissue persists on the analog channelsI have listed it under "Parts & Repair" at half the price of aworking unit, as I may have missed something in my short testing, This listing may present a great opportunity for someone skilled introubleshooting audio equipment.
