Douglas DXF 11’6 7 weight fly rodGreat rod for 2 handed Spey casting for Great Lakes or Pacific steelhead and salmon. Could also be used as a surf rod for stripers.Rod is in excellent cosmetic and functional shape. The cork grip has minimal wear. I’ve used it a handful of times, but it’s mostly sitting in my closet so it needs to go. Action is medium fast and it single hand cast or spey casts nicely. The butt section has a lot of power in reserve for bigger fish, but it’s not so heavy that it’s a pain on the shoulder.The rod loads very nicely with the included 465 grain head Rio Elite Switch Chucker line but it can also handle some more weight if you want to add sink tips. The Switch Chucker line does a great job of slinging out heavy streamers to swing, or bulky indicator rigs to nymph. It’s got a bit of a back taper / handling section before the running line so mending line isn’t too bad at the 30-45 ft distances. The line sections are color coded so it’s easy to know how much line to have out on the water for proper Spey casting.Comes with the rod tube, sock and fly line.
