I'm reluctantly slimming down my banjolele collection so be sure to check out my other listings if you have the banjolele "bug" like me. I'm offering for sale this 1910s-1920s early "The Vernon" banjo ukulele. I know Lange made many of "The Vernon" banjoleles for Bruno & Sons, but this appears to be an earlier example so I'm not 100% sure who made it for bruno. The peghead is very reminiscent of the early buckbee banjos. And the spun metal over maple pot makes me think that perhaps it was made by buckle. There is evidence that they made banjos for Bruno. Construction appears to be nickel plated brass pot spun over maple. The neck also appears to be a dark stained maple. 7" pot 13" scale length1 1/4" nut widthOriginal Grover Champion friction pegs Original Bell Brand tailpieceThings I did to this banjolele. Frets have been replaced, leveled, and polished. New bridge has been fitted. Tension hooks and nuts are modern replacements. Strung it up with my favorite strings for most banjoleles: LaBella No. 13 banjolele strings with the aluminum wound 3rd.
