This is a Phi Gamma Delta fraternity pin from 1915. Badge is in excellent condition, good working clasp, wearable and collectible. Phi Gamma Delta was founded at Jefferson College in 1848. Since 1923, they have a standard pin/badge worn by all active members (1" high and .6" wide). The jeweled badge was banned in 1903. Jeweled borders started in the 1870's and lasted until the decree in 1903. In 1892, the annual convention mandated a "half- size" badge. This size badge apparently lasted until the standard "Founder's Badge" was adopted in 1923. This badge is 5/8? tall x 3/8? wide. J L Mitchell, 1914 under an A surrounded by lines.
