I'm TRULY honored to list this horn for sale. If you know anything about Conns, you know how special this horn is--no matter the vintage. This just happens to be really old! 1956-57 Elkhart, IN, production, C.G. Conn LTD (see bell photos). This is the mighty, mighty 8D. Don't let someone else beat you to it!I have Bachelor's degree in horn performance; I have been a private music instructor for over twenty years; this is my third Conn horn (10D, 10DR and this); I'm deeply reverent to the brand; I won't play or buy anything else. This horn has only been with myself and my dear friend--from whom I bought it in 2015--since the 1970s when his family bought the horn from his horn teacher--I believe she was the second owner; but she may have been the first! So I'm either the third or fourth owner. This is my playing horn; it has never just 'been on a shelf'. The photos do what they can--please view them carefully and ask any questions. This is a major horn, a major investment; and therefore I'm only considering extremely serious inquiries, buyers and bids. Highly rare, highly valuable, highly cherished, extremely well-maintained--and of course, it plays BEAUTIFULLY! If you know Conns, you know how easily and well and freely they blow and play. And what tone!!SERIAL NUMBER 845599, confirms 1956 or 1957 Elkhart production as per Conn's website. Hard-shell, really 'tough' and durable (and on the heavy side), Protec case included (unless you don't want or need it).I will allow for returns as I know how important it is to spend time with an instrument--if you are a professional as I am, or a younger student with a teacher--before one commits to the investment. However, I have thoroughly documented its condition and know every inch of the horn. PLEASE be extremely respectful and EXTREMELY careful with it if you might return it.Thank you for all serious interest. I am looking for its next, long-term caretaker as I am retired now from teaching and playing professionally.
