Dorothy Thorpe was a frontrunner for sure in the original mid-century modern era. Now, her things are cherished yet again. This is her chip 'n' dip set in French glass and sterling. She did not manufacture, but chose very good items on which to put her remarkable touch. Once you have a beginning piece of her wares you will want to keep adding. It gets attention like today's TV producers using her items in their sets. This is a large bowl with an acrylic brace that holds the smaller one. That brace also holds the toothpick holder. It is in perfect condition but for the fact that someone has at some time used a glue-backed label on the inside silver band. Even the brace for the smaller bowl is still flexible. It has the ORIGINAL Dorothy Thorpe round label on the side and the ORIGINAL ID label with care instructions on the reverse. Without the remark about the "label" this was going to be priced at $65, but instead it is $48. It can be purchased at The Courthouse Metro market on Saturday or, if still available, The Georgetown Market on Sunday. Note also that there is a talk on the famous Frank Lloyd Wright at 1
