This is the initial 70s Peavey Classic as promoted by Lynyrd Skynyrd and other Southern rock bands. That's the whole design name: Classic It's not a Classic 50, VT, VTX, Transtube or any of that stuff. If you are searching for details on this amp, see to it you are taking a look at the right one. Solid State preamp and a 50 watt Tube power amp area with 2 matched Groovetube 6L6 tubes. The speakers are made by CTS. It has a special channel switching over setup which allows you to connected into Bright or regular channels, both channels in Series or both in Parallel. This can variously be regulated via the included and hard to find original 6 pin DIN footswitch. Checking out the handbook is necessary to realise how this works due to the fact that it is NOT intuitive! It showcases a real, honest-to-boing reverb tank and a nice strong tremelo result. I can email you a PDF variation of the handbook if you can't find it online. This amp works great and is blisteringly loud. Cascading gain phases in the preamp allow some exceptional harmonic distortion however IMO it's finest at strong, loud takes and cleans OD pedals really well. Cosmetically it is in pretty darn great condition for an amp pressing 40 years old! I'm asking $300 but will listen to reasonable offers. Mostly wanting to cost $$$ but if you have something musical to trade, I'll consider it. Thanks for looking.
