It is dense and not overly stiff. The density helps to decrease wow and flutter and the density combined with the low stiffness helps provide a clean sound with less static. As a further benefit, acrylic looks great, and can work well with lighting effects if you have any such accessories.Dimensions: Diameter: 11.8 inches (300mm), Thickness: 0.71 inches (18mm), Weight: 2lb, 1.3oz (946 grams), Diameter of center hole: 0.29 inches (7.4mm), Diameter of carved out space under platter: 9.65 inches (245mm). There is a large carved out area underneath to leave room for the belt drive system that sits under and inside the edges of the platter. This is not for a turntable where the belt goes around the diameter of the platter.Note: The dark grey platters are tinted platters that unfortunately didn't turn out with a consistent coloration. Otherwise they are brand new platters. If you select a dark grey platter, tell me what end of the darkness spectrum you want and I'll send it if I have it available. You can see the range of color in the first photo. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th photo are of one of the platters that was on the lighter end of the spectrum, demonstrating that even the lighter ones can show up kind of dark when placed on a black turntable. [UPDATE: The grey platters I have left are on the light end of the spectrum.] ... The opaque and clear platters I have listed are returns that may have small scuffs, but otherwise should be in good condition.
