I am sadly lastly prepared to let go of my first vintage bike, a Womens / Girls 1950 (serial number matches 1950 precisely !!) Columbia 26" Five Star Superb. I purchased it about a years ago, and at the time it was a rust bucket !! We did an overhaul of the bike and cleaned/greased everything. The bicycle was sanded down and completely repainted with a custom professional paint task (Blue pearl / white mix). We had the gear, handlebars, and some miscellaneous metal pieces rechromed. Added brand-new white wall tires, new custom-made metal grips, brand-new white pedals, new white seat, brand-new decals, new front fender light, etc . At this moment, the bicycle is in need of some TLC (nothing significant). The paint has held up well, however there are some dings/imperfections from breaking down the bicycle and moving it for many years, however minor as you can see in the wedding photos on the kick stand and near the decal on the chain guard. The tires have to be pumped up, and it needs a new inner tube for the back wheel. The front light works, but needs batteries (you can get them at radio shack). The bike also needs a back rack at this time. I purchased a correct columbia back rack for it years back, but had not been aware it was bare metal, so it ended up being really rusty. I can include this in the purchase in case you desire to use it. Other than that, the bicycle is total with tank. The sprocket/chain is not an avoid tooth, so no fretting about replacing expensive chains that are not made, nice.:) All the effort has been done, just some small tlc work. Every time I ride this bicycle I have actually always received remarks and appearances, it is truly a lovely bicycle polished up! I have grown too lazy to stay up to date with it and we need to make space in our laundry space so we can get a washer/dryer. I was even super lazy with the horrible photographs which do it no justice, but hi, it's a lot, as I do not desire to go with the trouble to break it down and ship via Ebay.
