Early 20th century cast iron music stand with claw feet. Open wood-frame music rest. Rest is at a fixed angle. Cast-iron tripod-base; iron pedestal, adjustable height from 38" lowest to 62" highest. 11 lbs. (4.98 kg). Very good condition considering its age. Feel free to contact me for additional photos.A New York establishment founded in 1896, the Kliegl Brothers Universal Electric Stage Lighting Co. specialized in motion picture and stage lighting. According to the 1926 company catalog, these stands were also designed to hold light fixtures to "properly illuminate music scores -- without strain on the eyes of the musician -- or glaring light leaks -- annoying to an audience and detrimental to the motion-picture or performance."This antique Kliegl Bros Ny book stand is a rare find for any collector.Its sturdy construction ensures that it will last for many years to come.
