I'm in the process of bring back an old antique floor safe that was either made during the Civil War, or soon after the Civil War. From what I have had the ability to discover out, there is no name of the manufacture on the safe itself ...... however the soild brass manage, and the solid brass tumbler mix are made by the S business, back in the mid 1800's. The person who I purchased it from, made the error of painting over the safe with a black paint, which covered up the pinstripe information deal with it. I put in the time to very carefully sandblast it down, keeping in mind of the gold color pinstripe information on it ...... and have now painted it to its initial color, which was black ... ... and I'm presently completing up the pinstriping on it. It is a working safe, I have the mix for it, and it works fantastic ... ... so thesafe is useable. I have no chance og getting the actual weight of the safe, but I'm estimating it to weigh somewhere in between 800 to 900 lbs. It does have wheels on it, so you can roll it into location where ever you might want to put it. It would make an excellent useable antique item for in your home as a conversation piece, or in an office.
