Peeling paint and rust on the iron as well as weathering on the wood lends to the rustic, shabby chic appeal, but they are still strong and very functional. The wood slats could be left as is or repainted with white or verdigris paint. The chairs are narrow but comfortable to sit on, as the back rest has a gradual slope.
