For trunks or chests where only one handle is required. --This handle is new stock and very suitable for handle replacements on Antique Trunks or newly built Chests--Included in this purchase are the following: One black leather strap cut from cowhide 1 1/4" wide by 8 1/2" inches long by 3/16" and very sturdy-- Two metal strap ends with coat of primer and a finish coat of hammered black enamel. Eight 1" long cut nails --you can use two to four nails per end to fasten the leather to the trunk. Nails are to be placed under the position of the metal strap ends in a vertical position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. nine 3/4" brass plated split end tacks to fasten the metal strap ends. The handle measures approx. 10 1/2" metal end to metal end with the handle loop but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit. ******If you require two handles per trunk or chest you can purchase those in another auction item in my listing. Leather comes in black and russet color. My feedback indicates that customers that have bought these handles are very pleased. free postage
