Ayam Cemani is a rare breed of chicken that came to the US first in 2014. Since then, they have been very popular among breeders for their gently temperament and overall hardiness. They are a relatively small breed and are decent egg layers, about 1 every day to other day. What makes them so special is that they have a mutation in the Fibromelanosis gene which causes melanin deposition everywhere! This makes their feathers, skin, bones, and even organs black! They are lovingly known as the "most metal chicken." I am currently carefully breeding these birds in my small backyard operation. These are two of my extra roosters, one born May 7th and the other born June 7th. They are sweet boys who love attention. They are not show quality and have minor flaws with spillover coloring. But anyone looking for an overall awesome looking and unique roo, these may be your guys!
