Up for sale is this beautiful and unique Conn trombone. Details below.-Conn 88H unlacquered gold brass bell from 1973, just after they moved from Elkhart. A fantastic bell bought from Alex Knutrude from Boston.-Elkhart-era Conn 8H tuning slide and gooseneck from 1963. The gooseneck has been modified to be interchangeable.-Shires/Eastman valve taken off their top of the line ETB828 horn. A great valve that is very similar to a Shires custom rotor.-Conn .547” slide with gold brass sleeves from 1996. Action is 9.5/10. Only a very small amount of lacquer wear at contact points and a microscopic ding at the crook.This horn is in great shape and is a very versatile option for those who are looking for a warm, responsive, focused sound. There are a couple very small cosmetic dings here and there, but nothing crazy. The valve is quick and has good compression. If you listen real close you can hear the valve rubbing the casing just a little bit, but if that doesn’t bother you it’s not an issue. The tuning slides fit great and are very smooth. The modular design allows you to switch between the valve and the gooseneck, and is also compatible with Edwards bells when paired with a custom shim for the tuning slide receiver. I’m currently learning to do brass instrument repair with a local DC tech, and he has been helping me do personal projects such as this.
