I have a Wurlitzer Centennial Cookbook that is in great shape for $55.00 b.o.If interested put "COOKING" in the subject line and email jane652008@ hotmail.comWURLITZER CENTENNIAL COOK BOOK, 1856--1956hardcover edition published by THE RUDOLPH WURLITZER COMPANY (1956...172 pages).Wurlitzer's Centennial Cook Book was printed in 1956 to commemorate 100 years of the Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, a century of achievement in the manufacturing of quality musical instruments. Wurlitzer produced stringed instruments, woodwinds, brass instruments, and electric pianos. However, the company is most famous for its organs and jukeboxes. The recipes featured here cover three generations of the Farny and Wurlitzer family and the wives of the company's business associates. A lovely front piece (illustration) is featured opposite the title page, with a unique spiderweb-textured paper to protect it. There is a vintage photo of some of the family women who contributed recipes for this book on the following page.The preface relates the history of these families, as well as how the cookbook came about. In 1925 the women of the family gathered their favorite recipes and compiled them into a luxurious cookbook. It was published in a limited edition of 100 copies, bound in sealskin leather and lined in black moire cloth. The books were distributed to family members and a few copies were inscribed by the authors and presented to friends on each side of the family. This cookbook is the reprinted volume of the rare-as-can-be 1925 cookbook, with some added recipes contributed by wives of the managers and employees, and wives of friends of the company in the 1950's.Included are old European and frontier Pennsylvania recipes (some dating back to the late eighteenth century) and also old home remedies such as Wormwood Tea, Camphor Pomade, Sage Tea, Hand Lotion, Hair Tonic, Gargle, For Anemic People, etc
