Lighthouses are almost magnetic so strong is the attraction. In Bandon, Oregon, the Coquille River Lighthouse has stood since 1891. It was the only structure remaining after the devastating Bandon fire of 1936. The lighthouse was renovated in 1976. It still stands operational today, and has daily tours (post and pre Covid). The lighthouse is operational as a novelty, as GPS has become the way of modern shipping. Perhaps the magnetic attraction is because most American's came from far away countries (or at least our parents or grandparents). Lighthouses were the first land sighting for many arriving immigrants. Of such was my own family. I can only imagine the great excitement that uplifted the hearts of weary travelers as the rotating beacons of light illuminated the waters. The illumination was likely something of hope and the promise of a better life -- something unforgettable. As stated in the condition's section, this original painting is in excellent condition. The colors are rich and deep. the colors are not faded. The frame, double matting, and the actual painting are a perfect compliment to each other. Unless this painting is sold locally and picked up by the buyer, I will replace the glass within the frame with Acrylic art glass (Plexiglass). Plexiglass is nearly shatterproof, and will assure a safe delivery. I will package this painting with great care for shipping. Shipping by: USPS., FedEx., or UPS. Shipping throughout the lower 48 states. Local pick up would be without shipping costs.
