Once this oil painting has been sold it will be gone forever, since this is a one-of-a-kind work of art.Artist Bio - David Wesley PoeDavid Wesley Poe grew up in Bellevue, Kentucky, the son of the late John & Shirley Poe. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1987. He went on to attend Eureka College, Eureka, Illinois on a Ronald Reagan Leadership Scholarship. He graduated from Eureka College with a B.A. in English, Religion & Philosophy in 1991 and while attending, met and married his wife, Teresa Piester. The couple have four children and two grandchildren. He obtained a Master of Divinity Degree in 1995 from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was ordained into the United Church of Christ that same year and has since served congregations in Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of St. Martin United Church of Christ, High Ridge, Missouri. David did not begin painting until he was in his late 40s and entered his first Plein Air event on his 50th birthday, where he won the judges prize for his painting of the Lewis & Clark Boat House & Museum, St. Charles, Missouri. He has since participated in the annual Augusta Plein Air Festival in Augusta, Missouri and won the judge?s choice award for a theme paint with his painting, In Flight, 2023. David is a self-taught artist and enjoys painting the Missouri landscape using his Coulter Easel and a limited palette of colors: yellow primary, cadmium red light, ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, ivory black, and titanium white (professional grade oils). He does not believe in reprints of his paintings as a way of calling attention to the need to support and encourage the work of all artisans. He ships his paintings in cardboard and paper, which can be recycled. All paintings are covered with Gamvar Gloss Varnish for long-lasting protection of the paint surface.
