Extremely rare Eb (high pitch)cornet by Isaac Fiske of Worcester, Massachusetts. The cornet is silver-platedbrass with three-piston (top) action string-operated rotary valves. The silverplating is in excellent condition. All slides, valves, valve caps, and pistonsmove freely. There is a patch on the first valve upper tube, a patch on the leadpipe, and one on the third valve bottom tube. The German silver mouthpiece isnot original to the cornet, and there is no case. The cornet plays beautifully.This is a wonderful example of an extremely rare cornet by an importantAmerican maker. The cornet is engraved:ISAAC FISKEMAKERWORCESTER MASSPATENTEDOCT. 30. 1866NOV. 12. 1867FEB. 11. 1868SEP.23 /73 Isaac Fiske (1820-1894)established his firm in 1842 in Worcester, Massachusetts. In 1887, Fiske retiredand sold his company to G.C. Conn.
