Frederich Holtier 1997 Signed Concert Classical Guitar The sound of this guitar will rival many guitars in the$6,000-$8,000 price range.Based on its appearance, this 27-year old guitar wasvery lightly played over its lifetime and spent most of its time in its case, whichis evident by the absence of nail marks on the soundboard. Still, its sound hasthe fullness, robustness, depth and sustain that would meet the demands of manyprofessional classical guitarists. It has a deep, warm, rich andpowerful voice that if desired, could also sound quite bright. This guitar it is in excellent cosmetic condition. Froma 2.5-3 ft distance it looks near mint, but it does have a few small dings. I tried to show them inthe last several pictures. The specs are as follows: Scale length: 648 mm.53 mm nut, 45 mm string spacing at nut, 60 mm string spacing at saddle (+/- 0.5 mm).480 mm body length. 369 mm lower bout width, 280 mm upper bout width (+/- 1 mm).Body depth 100 mm (+/- 1 mm).12th fret action: 3.9 mm and 3.1 mm (6th string and 1st string).Top: 1/4 sawn spruce with nice birds-eye figure (per F. Holtier). Back and sides: 1/4 sawn Indian rosewood.Bridge: Brazilian rosewood.Fingerboard: ebony.Headplate: Brazilian rosewood.TKL arched case in very good condition (it has a slight closet smell). The guitar has some flaws that might need some attention: Schaller Hauser-style tuners work well, but will ultimately need to be replaced; the 3rd and 4th-string keys appear to be broken. Exact replacement tuners for a drop-in installation cost about $100.At high volume there is a near-normal buzz on the 6th string that appears to be sympathetic, rather than caused by frets. Perhaps the fretboard will benefit from moderate TLC. The neck is relatively deep, flat-D shape. Good for people with large hands, but could be a little difficult for smaller hands.
