For sale a 1983 Gary Southwell Panormo-Style Romantic/Classical guitar. Gary Southwell has long been perhaps the most celebrated builder of period accurate classical guitars. His guitars are played by some of the of the world’s finest guitarists, including: Julian Bream, David Starobin, and Paul Simon, just to name a few. Gary’s guitars are rarely available on the used market and this guitar is absolutely stunning. Built after the guitars of famous 19th century luthier Louis Panormo, this instrument is a truly faithful reproduction in every regard. Here are the specs:—Solid European spruce soundboard —Stunning Solid flame maple back/sides —Spanish cedar neck w/Ebony fretboard 630mm scale length —Elegant period correct Rodgers tuning machines —Beautiful appointments including pear-inlaid bridge—Finish is French polish on the soundboard and Gary’s own oil-rubbed varnish on the remainder of the instrumentThe guitar is in phenomenal condition considering its 40 years old. There is no serious damage or repairs of any kind. There are a few faint nail marks on the top that don’t show up in the photo because they are so minimal. The sound is lovely and has a nostalgic quality that you can only get in a well made instrument of this size. The guitar includes a nice hard case and will be shipped with great care.
