The inspiration for many of his watches comes from the passion that binds him to the world of cars, thus cultivating a strong bond with the emotions that come from that world. Trasmissione Meccanica is also inspired by a mechanical instrument.This watch derives from the mechanical transmission of automobiles, where the gears were transformed into the watch case and a part of the clutch became the dial. The watch almost has the scent of a machine shop. It respects the traditions of all Giuliano Mazzuoli watches and has the ambition to be something more than a simple instrument for measuring time.Like all Giuliano Mazzuoli watches, this one is designed in Italy and handcrafted in Switzerland with a high-quality Swiss movement and complication. The stainless steel case is large with the crown positioned at 2 o'clock.“What's more beautiful than mechanics? I take elements designed for their function without taking aesthetics into consideration. I often looked at the transmission of a disassembled and then rebuilt car while anxiously waiting to be able to take the car out for a spin.Today I see it differently. I look at it in such a different way that I take inspiration from the mechanical parts and transform them into a timepiece. The gearbox became the case, and the clutch disc in an original multi-level dial in three dimensions. The crown used to wind and set the time is identical to the splined shaft (with a look of nostalgia he says that Tuscan mechanics called it “the celery stick”) which transmits the rotation of the engine to the gears. The hands of the watch are inspired by a sort of compass that used to be found on a mechanic's bench.
