Hi There AND WELCOME! THANKS SO MUCH FOR CHECKING OUT THIS ITEM. I GOT THIS VALUATION FROM ONLINE AT VALUE MY STUFF BACK IN MARCH. I AM PRINTING THE WHOLE EVALUATION SO YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING THEY SAID. THEY DID NOT MAKE MENTION OF HOW IT WAS MATTED, BUT IT WAS GLUED DOWN TO PAPER AND FRAMED. I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS JUST ON THE EDGES OR THE WHOLE. MY HUSBANDS GRANDFATHERGOT THESE FROM OCCUPIED JAPAN WHEN HE WAS IN THE MILITARY AND IT WAS IN A ROLLED CARDBOARD HOLDER FOR YEARS AND HE GAVE THEM TO MY HUSBAND WHO HAD THE MATTED AND MOUNTED. A Japanese woodblock print in inks on paper after Kawase Hasui from the series Tokaido Fukei Senshu (Tokaido Scenery Series) illustrating the Kawai Bridge with a moonlit Fujiyama in the distance, dated 20th year of the Showa Era (1947), framed and glazed. Date: 1947. Height: 15 INCHES. Width: 10 INCHES. Auction Value: $400-$600. Insurance Value: 1,200.00. Extra Notes. The red circle below the artist's trademark is the seal of Watanabe, his publisher and life-long friend. The date is the most affordable group of calligraphy in the left hand margin and the upper section is the title.The evaluation of the present piece has actually been pitched on the modest side! One can discover copies of this image being retailed for up to $1000 by the major dealers.
