LOT of 2 VINTAGE CONN DIRECTOR TROMBONES - SILVER PLATED - FOR PARTS or REPAIR

Location:
Milwaukee, WI
Description:

THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a lot of two vintage Conn slide trombones. They are the "Director" model, with shooting star engraving, and both come in satin silver plate finish. Both instruments are complete (as in no missing parts), but they would need work to be put in proper playing condition. These are being sold as is for parts or repair. These are former school horns that have been retired by the district that owned them. As such, they have taken their share of knocks. They also have school ID markings etched on the bells, and written on the cases. Below are specifics on the condition of each instrument.#1 - The bell section is in good condition. There are a few small dings, but nothing too significant. The rim of the bell hasn't been bent. There are a couple of resoldered joints (braces). The tuning slide isn't stuck. There are dents and flat spots on the "U" bend of the tuning slide. The "U" bend of the main slide is badly dented in. The slide is not operating smoothly. There is one spot in particular where it seems to be catching. The silver plate finish is mostly intact, with light tarnish. This horn comes in a Conn plastic shell case that is in good solid condition with minimal wear and tear.#2 - The bell section is in fair condition. There are a numerous small dings, pings, and nicks. The rim of the bell is a bit wavy. Both braces have been resoldered, and not particularly well. The tuning slide isn't stuck. There are dents and flat spots on the "U" bend of the tuning slide. The brace on the tuning slide has been resoldered, and there is a broken solder joint with the counterweight. The main slide appears to be non-original. It has bright nickel finish whereas the rest of the instrument is satin silver plate. Further, the "U" bend doesn't appear original to the slide, as it is brass, and obviously resoldered. The nub on the end is dented in slightly. The slide is operating reasonably well, but could certainly be smoother, although it might just need to be cleaned and lubricated. This horn comes in an old case that is solid, but very worn, both inside and out. It has lots of tape on the exterior. There are no mouthpieces, nor any other accessories included with these instruments. Please feel free to message me with any questions! Thanks again for looking!MPSlot4
