This is a mid 1800's Jacobean refectory dining space set. The carvings are definitely lovely. These are really strong pieces, probably quarter-sawn oak. There are 8 chairs - 6 routine and 2 captain - that were entirely taken apart and refitted, reglued and reupholstered about 10 years earlier. The table has some veneer chips on the leading edge, and the side table has some surface concerns on the bottom shelf, but otherwise everything is in excellent shape. Right here's exactly what you get:. TABLE: 66"x39"x30.5" with concealed leaves expanding the size to 96". Has 8 chairs (includes 2 captains chairs). Some of the chair seats have cat claw poke-holes (see pic). BUFFET: 71"x22.5"x38" - 2 elaborately sculpted doors, one with a shelf and one with an internal drawer, two extra center drawers and an open bottom shelf. Locks work and we have the secret. SIDE TABLE: 48"x19.5"x33.5" - two drawers and an open bottom rack. This is actually a lovely set but it is simply too big for our home. Cost is $2,000 obo.
