Miyata 610 Touring Bike - Excellent Condition - Easy Gravel Conversion

This is a 1985 Miyata 610 touring bike. It has a chromoly triple butted steel frame, cantilever brakes, and it is in excellent condition. It is a smooth and fast ride. It has been lubed, adjusted and is ready to ride. Of course some reassembly will be required after your purchase since it will be shipped in a bike box. The paint is like new. It has New tubes and tires and all of the parts on it have very minimal wear. This bike has almost all original parts. It was ridden just a few times and then was stored inside a house for over 37 years. The seat tube measures 50.5 cm from center to top ( it's 49.5 cm from center to center). According to the Miyata catalog from that year it is the 19 1/2" model. Stand over height is 30". The top tube measures 53 cm from center to center. It should fit someone in the height range of 5'- 0" up to about 5'-5" depending on your personal body dimensions. This bike is a true touring bike but would also be good as a commuter or it could be converted into an inexpensive gravel bike. Simply by putting 700c wheels on it and adding some gravel tires would give you a functional gravel ride. This frame has clearance for up to 40 mm wide tire width! The cantilever brakes are easily adjustable to accommodate the size difference from the 700c wheels. The left hand brake Hood has a crack near where the brake cable exits but I believe the hoods are still fully functional.
