It is a variation on the extremely popular model P3, and it was built for a player who wanted an instrument with the thick sound that a P3 is known for, but that could also be used for some 'lead trumpet' playing where a brighter sound is desirable. Every Monette instrument is custom-made for an individual client.This instrument uses Monette mouthpieces with a 'standard' shank size. For the instrument to play well, it is important that it only be played with appropriate Monette mouthpieces that have the proper weight and internal specifications. Two mouthpiece are included.This trumpet was built in the 2005.The horn should only be carried inside its custom-fit Monette case, as a non-Monette case will put pressure onto the horn in the wrong places and will cause damage. We just had the horn serviced by Dan Oberloh in Seattle.Monette had/has a year wait for service.
